Sketch-A-Day 317

I suck at proportions- i used a picture from the TeenTitans cartoon, Robin (from my kid's room) as a frame. Eh...you get the idea.

So yesterday was my 400th blog post. Obviously I hadn't used this thing very much before the Sketch-A-Day crap started.

Sketch-A-Day 316

trying a bow-tie instead (and screwed up the eyes) I'd rather just draw squinty lines...or domino masks for that matter

Playing around with MEGABOLT again...it's been a while. Hopefully this takes the design further from CapMarvel while still representing Supes enough.

Sketch-A-Day 305

I haven't really been doing ANY drawing lately (except for the crap i throw up on this thing). I'm always torn between trying to work on becoming a better illustrator (when ultimately it's not my goal). So most of time it feels like a waste of time. I do wish i had AT THE VERY LEAST decent sketching skills so that i can confer story ideas and page layouts.

To kick off November, which is very close to the home stretch of these gawd-awful sketch-a-days, I'll be doing a few quick reference sketches from random other guy's drawings that I have laying around. Some to practice shadow, clothes, form, or whatever the case may be.

Sketch-A-Day 304

Happy Halloween!

...this isn't new at all, but it's on theme.

A couple years ago my buddy and i came up with a very loose idea for an 80's style slasher flick (complete with a commie bad guy butchering navy seals in the Siberian tundra) It was called "Red Scare."

I asked Scotty to sketch out the lumbering brutalizer for me and so I colored it up.

Sketch-A-Day 300

sketch 300, well fuck balls! You'd think I'd do something all cool and special...a fully colored piece or at least inked...hell, Halloween themed maybe.

hopefully a sketch that i kinda like will have to suffice. I'm probably gonna be doing a few more "random pulpster" guys like this...they're kinda fun. They could be the Spirit, Phantom Reporter, Dick Tracy (with a mask) or one of many different guys when they don't have any real definition or color to them.
