Christmas Eve-- today is all about amping everything up for the kids so that they're in a frenzy for tomorrow morning.

So here's Danny Garrety as a kid

Sketch-A-Day 321

Army Beetle action figure...y'know, if BpB was actually in a book and big enough to beCOME an action figure. "DeepSeaDive Beetle with real squirt action" up next.

Danny during his WWII days, his costume blended pretty heavily with grunt fatigues as there were no costume repair shops on the front.

Sketch-A-Day 317

I suck at proportions- i used a picture from the TeenTitans cartoon, Robin (from my kid's room) as a frame. Eh...you get the idea.

So yesterday was my 400th blog post. Obviously I hadn't used this thing very much before the Sketch-A-Day crap started.

Sketch-A-Day 316

trying a bow-tie instead (and screwed up the eyes) I'd rather just draw squinty lines...or domino masks for that matter

Sketch-A-Day 251

Atomica with Danny Garrety looking on...she's got a little bit of the whole "Attack of the 50 foot Woman" thing going on. Only she doesn't really get up to 50 feet tall. She's more of the 18-20 foot woman.

This is the initial sketch, in the final I'll be overlapping Garrety a little bit to help with scale and to line up their glances a little better.

(thank you Bettie Page reference)

Sketch-A-Day 249

almost a scene-- this represents a pivotal moment in Garrety's life. The event that pushes him into using the scarab stone and becoming a hero type guy.

Sketch-A-Day 248

attempted a shadowy knife swing...i like the shadowy areas (that aren't filled yet) but the whole top half looks all squatty.

and i forgot to draw his hair and inked his head like he has the skullcap on...oops

Sketch-A-Day 233

I'm going through and plotting the different story arcs through out Danny's life and it always helps me to have some visuals along the way. I do my best writing when I have a picture to stare at to help my envisionings.

This is Danny as he first enters college at Golden State University in 1912.
