finally some colors to round out the idea. I haven't added any shadow tones yet because i've been re-thinking the shading lines on the feet. originally i had planned on a gradient fill from the rock through the pants.

As you can see, during the color stage, is when I usually play with some of the extra elements that I may have drawn off to the side.

I'll usually go in digitally and futz around with whatever I don't like or all the different bad decisions that a drawing will pick up along the way. I've been saving a lot of my fills to be done digitally too. It allows me to balance the composition a bit better.

okay, so here are the raw inks with all the blemishes and fuck ups before I've fixed them. I'll usually draw out all kinds of other shit off to the side, that I'll fuck with digitally to see if something else works better....almost like a fancy paper doll.

I really like this one (even though he looks too well built). It's a trick of the trench coat that over broadens his shoulders...but again, I still really like it. I've been having a buncha fun scribbling in definition and shadow with the brush pen and chisel.
